It has been awhile

So, it has been awhile since I last blogged about life in the Queen household. I will try to catch everyone up on what has been going on.

- Callie is still sleeping in her big girl bed and loving it.

- She is talking a lot lately. She can say so much. She is just like a little sponge. She amazes me with her new words daily.

- She took her first trip to the aquarium. She is now obsessed with fish and whales. She runs around and says ish, ish and whale.

- Since she is obsessed with fish, she has found a new love for Nemo. She calls him Memo. It is so cute.

- She can use the DVD player. She knows which DVD is which. She knows when she wants to watch Elmo or Nemo, will find the DVD, and go put it in correctly. I am not sure if this is a good thing or not.

- She loves to jump- on anything, anywhere. It is so cute... until she falls and hurts herself.

- Callie loves her Little Touch Leap Pad. She loves to read Pooh and the Rainbow fish (of course, he kind of looks like Nemo!)

-I (Jasmin) finally graduated with my Master's degree. I am so proud of myself :)

- Kevin is still working hard. There is a new senior VP at work he is currently trying to impress. I am sure he is doing a good job at this. He impresses me daily.

-We are going on a cruise on April 27th. We are going to the Bahamas and Key West with my dad and stepmom. We are so excited to get to go on a family vacation.

Big Girl Bed

Callie had not been sleeping very well in her crib, so we decided to try a big girl bed. We bought a toddler bed on New Year's Eve and thought we would try it out. We took Callie to Walmart and let her pick out a pillow case and blanket to make the bed her own. She chose a purple monkey pillow and blanket. We took apart her crib and showed her the new bed. We thought she might be a little skeptical, but she wasn't. She got right in her bed. She got up twice within the first hour, but then slept through the rest of the night. We were so excited. The next day, nap time was a little rough, but she finally got to sleep. She is now loving her bed. She doesn't get out during nap time or during the night. She wakes up in a great mood and seems to really love her bed. She is officially a big girl now...not sure how mommy feels about that, but daddy is very proud!!

Christmas

Callie had a great Christmas. Her Nana, Great Grandma, and Uncle Greg came down from Crossville. Nana bought everyone new pajamas to wear Christmas morning. Callie was so excited about her new jammies and the presents under the tree, that she couldn't sleep. She woke up early Christmas morning and started opening presents. She really understood how to unwrap the presents and she did a great job. Her Gammy, Grandpa Charles, and Aunt Michelle came over around 11. She had even more presents to open. She finally stopped opening presents around noon. She then took a nap. That night our friends Carrie and Russ came over with Russ's mom and their two kids to eat Christmas dinner. We had a feast. It was so much fun to spend time with family and friends. This was a wonderful Christmas. We missed all of our family that couldn't be with us. We feel so blessed to have such a wonderful family and a great group of friends.

Holiday Party

We went to the holiday party for the Mom's group tonight. We all had so much fun. Callie danced and ran around with her friends. She enjoyed the cookies and Christmas music. She also received a wonderful gift... a stuffed Unicorn that is bigger than her. It was very nice to get together with all of our wonderful friends for a night of fun and food.

Thanksgiving in Tennessee

We went to Tennessee to visit family for Thanksgiving. Callie and Kevin had both been extremely sick the week before, so we were glad we were able to go. We went up Wednesday and hung out at Nana's house. Thursday Callie was still not feeling well, so she slept though most of lunch. Kevin and I enjoyed some great food courtesy of my mom. We had turkey, ham, stuffing, mac and cheese, cranberry sauce, and anything else you could imagine. It was soooo good. We went out to Granny's house after lunch to see Nini and Pop. Callie also got to see more family members. There were about 30 of her aunts, uncles, and cousins for her to talk to. Callie got to open up a few Christmas presents that day. On Friday Callie was allowed to open up the rest of her Christmas presents from Nini and Pop. She got a lot of great stuff. She got a big piano, baby doll, puzzle, and lots of other goodies. She had a really good time hanging out with family.

Southern Girl

I guess Callie really is a Southern Girl. When she says hello or goodbye, she says, "Hi Ya'll, or Bye Ya'll". I must say that more than I think I do. I know she did not get that from Kevin! I have never heard him say Ya'll!!

Time to Eat

Now when Callie is hungry, she lets us know. She will go to her chair or put on her bib. If that wasn't hint enough, she will start saying "My Meal". I am not sure where she learned that, but when she says "My Meal", she is ready to eat.
